These ancient patterns are fascinating. The interlocking pattern is never-ending and like a Mandala, is descriptive of the life cycle and symbolic of a facet of being. This one goes with the Knotted Jug, is hand-painted and is fired to Stoneware Temperature.

Jugs are very useful and popular. I often make them as a pair with a large platter. It is interesting the way the pattern relates on a flat surface, and on the surface of the jug, which is hand-painted. This one is based on a Celtic knot pattern and belongs with the Celtic Knot Plate. Stoneware.
